OVRWire records are the receipts that survive the season. Single-game highs, season totals, player milestones, team marks, and historical archive rows all need a record book that knows the difference between proved and rumored.

If a player drops a monster line, it should not disappear into a screenshot thread. If a league crowns a scoring champ, the archive should know where that number came from.

How We Verify

Records have the strictest source standard on the site:

  1. Single-game records require player game-log rows, not just season aggregates.
  2. Those rows must come from approved or locked matches.
  3. The match should link back to a final score and source receipt.
  4. Season totals reuse the same cumulative rows as Leaders.
  5. Archive-only seasons can show totals but should not invent single-game records.

If the source does not prove the individual game, OVRWire should not publish the individual record.

FAQ

Why is the record book empty for a season with stats?

The season may have aggregate stats but no verified player game logs. Single-game records need game-level proof.

Do season totals come from the Leaders page?

Yes. Season totals should reuse the same cumulative leader rows so totals stay consistent across pages.

Can an old season be backfilled?

Yes, if the league has enough source material: box scores, archives, score posts, spreadsheets, Discord records, or other proof the organizer can verify.

Can graphics use record-book claims?

Yes. The record book is one of the best sources for player cards, award posts, and season recap creative.

What happens if a record is corrected?

The correction should attach to the record and source evidence. Locked records should not be changed casually.

Can team records appear here too?

Yes, when sourced. Team marks, franchise highs, playoff milestones, and season honors can be part of a deeper record book.
