OVRWire respects intellectual-property rights and responds to notices of claimed copyright infringement under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA). This page explains how to send a notice, how the takedown and counter-notice process works, and how we handle repeat infringers.
OVRWire is independent and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the NBA, 2K, or Take-Two Interactive.
Designated Copyright Agent
OVRWire's designated agent to receive notices of claimed copyright infringement under 17 U.S.C. § 512(c):
- Agent: OVRWire LLC — Copyright Agent
- Email: legal@ovrwire.com
Send copyright notices to the agent above; email is the fastest path.
How To File A Copyright Notice
To be valid, a written notice must include:
- Your physical or electronic signature.
- Identification of the copyrighted work you say was infringed.
- Identification of the material you say is infringing, with enough detail — a URL or page — for us to find it.
- Your name, address, phone, and email.
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorized by the rights holder, its agent, or the law.
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that your notice is accurate and that you are the rights holder or authorized to act for them.
Incomplete notices can slow or stop review.
What Happens After A Valid Notice
- We review the notice against the reported material.
- If it is complete and credible, we remove or disable access to the material.
- We take reasonable steps to notify the person who submitted the material.
- That person may send a counter-notice.
Counter-Notice
If your material was removed and you believe that was a mistake or misidentification, you can send a counter-notice to legal@ovrwire.com. A valid counter-notice must include:
- Your physical or electronic signature.
- Identification of the material that was removed and the location where it appeared before removal.
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed or disabled by mistake or misidentification.
- Your name, address, and phone, a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for the address you provide — or, if that address is outside the United States, any judicial district where OVRWire may be found — and a statement that you will accept service from the person who filed the original notice or their agent.
After a valid counter-notice, we may inform the original complainant and may restore the material in about 10 to 14 business days, unless the complainant tells us they have filed a court action to keep it down. Timing follows what the DMCA allows.
Repeat Infringers
OVRWire tracks repeat infringers and, in appropriate cases, terminates access for accounts or leagues that repeatedly submit infringing material.
Trademark, Publicity, And Privacy Complaints
Copyright in a logo, graphic, screenshot, or other artwork is handled through the DMCA process above. Separate concerns — trademark use of a brand or team mark, name-and-likeness (publicity), and privacy — use a different rights-complaint path. Send those to legal@ovrwire.com or through the Corrections page with the page, the issue, and your evidence.
Good-Faith Reminder
Sending a false or bad-faith notice or counter-notice can carry legal liability. Only file if you hold the rights or are authorized to act for the rights holder.
